Ammo
What do you use for range practice? Home defense? Carrying out and about? Know any good places to buy nowadays?
I use Lawman TMJ for the range and remington hollow points for home defense just cause they were the most cost effective at the local shop at the time. RE: Ammo
I use Winchester White Box (WWB) for practice and carry Speer Gold Dot for defense.

RE: Ammo
For the range, either Rem UMC or WWB.... lately it's whatever I can find.

RE: Ammo
I usually carry winchester rangers in my 40 S&W and use wwb, CCI blazer brass, or handloads for target. I use the same 3 for my 45 also.

RE: Ammo
So, I wouldn't recommend the Lawman ammo... I took my USP to the range last night with a buddy of mine, we each had a box (50) of Speer Lawman .40 s&w, either 165 or 180gr (I forget -_-), TMJ. Between the two boxes, I think we had 5 misfeeds/jams. Another guy at the range was using American Eagle and I swapped 5 of mine for 5 of his. Had no problem with his ammo, but 1 of the 5 Lawman cartridges I gave him misfed.
I'm definitely not going to be buying that stuff again. PAOpenCarry.org - "Educate and inform the whole mass of the people... They are the only sure reliance for the preservation of our liberty." ~ Thomas Jefferson HK USP Compact .40 Variant 1 |

RE: Ammo
I started getting Federal Champion from Walmart, it's like $13.90 a box (50x) in .40S&W I think, and it's good stuff. Haven't had any issues with misfeeds or anything of the sort. Just as cheap as buying bulk most places but you don't have to drop a big wad of cash at once. For anyone in the area, the Dickson City location seems to be pretty well stocked all the time.

RE: Ammo
I like the CCI Blazer Brass from walmart, its $12.98ish per box o 50 for 40s&w. Havent had any problems and the brass has been working well for reloads as well. Its cheaper for me to get 2 boxes of CCI then it is for one box of the 100rd value WWB

The guy behind the desk didn't think it was a permanent change - just the distribution center sending what they had in stock. I haven't shot it yet...I still have a mini-stockpile of BB. |
