I like the small icons/buttons...
Granted, there is a learning curve, figuring out what symbol is "reply", "quote", etc.... but once you have it it is less "cluttered" IMO
What say yea?
As always, we are open to suggestions
SUCKS!!! Too much like v-bulletin. This is mybb, not v-bulletin. =P
Main forum page, add some color to the new posts and locked icons to make them stand out a little more.
I like it , overall, but it will take a little getting used to, compared to other forums that I frequent.
Keep up the good work!!

OK I was asked for my Opinion… Don’t know why
Before I can comment on anything, I will ask a few questions.
Is there a reason myBB was chosen over say PHPBB or SMF or even vBulletin?
I realize some need paid for, but there are other free / next to free Forums out there. Was there some thing that made this one better?
Is there a spell check option? I know there are some browser ones, I use them, I generally also use MS word to type up my stuff and then copy and paste, we will see how that goes, Some boards write funny when copied from MS Word.
What is the back end like? Is the database mySQl or some thing similar?
I will take a bit of time to see what options there are on the user end before I say anything of it.
Also, will the server it is on now support the long run? I know it is an odd question at this time, but as things grow, it can be a Biach to move things later.
I messaged a friend of mine that does network security to ask him about mybb issues he knows about. He's warned me about vBulletin and PHPbb security issues you could float an aircraft carriers through so I wanna know what his thoughts are on mybb. Ill let you know what he says when he gets back to me.
It works for me the way it is. It will take some getting used to.
Hey guys! Nice job on the forum! It looks nice just the way it is! It has that familiar VB feel with a touch of phpBB's simple interface. Seems just fine to me!

Mybb uses mysql and PostgreSQL as far as I know.
Why not phpbb?
Well, let's see...how bout it gets SPAMMED & HACKED a lot, because it's much more popular than mybb because it's been around a lot longer.
It also takes hours to install an 'add-on' whereas with mybb, you upload the plugin and simply press 'install plugin' and you're done, for the most part. Sometimes there is some configuration or code changes, but it's definitely not as tedious.
Why not smf?
smf lacks a lot of things, imho.
Mybb is said to be the FREE vbulletin alternative...
btw-I recommended mybb to Rich as I manage a few mybb ran forums and that's what I install on clients servers when they ask for a forum...
guess I'm just easy..... works for me
Right now everything tends to run together. It would be easier to read if there were more colors.

PHPbb can be a pain to administrate; security is a big issue (that’s why PMSC is now locked down). I'm thinking of changing PMSC to Mybb as well as the other forums I have on my servers.
Mybb is also a much cleaner forum
Just my 2¢
Ed
I asked a friend of mine that does IT security about mybb and he said theres no issues hes aware of with the recent versions.
PHPbb and vBulletin on the other hand, well, the list known issues and exploits was LOOOOOONG for each of them.

The wood look on that site reminds me of Andrew's old bedroom

at the same time, phpbb and vbulletin are much much more popular than mybb, so they're more vulnerable to attacks. Same goes for Windows vs Linux or a Mac...just give it time.
PS-I run mybb on ALL my sites that need a forum because I have experience with phpbb and it's a complete mess.
