I really wish I could offer you guys a one "knock out punch " worth of reasoning you could use with your women to win them over , but I simply dont have that problem. My wife is every bit as much a " gun nut " as I am. We both went to NRA Instructor classes together , as well as Range Safety Officer. The first gun she got was an AK, which she loved and she carried a .40 cal Taurus Millenium Pro every day when we lived in Florida. The only thing I can think of is maybe showing them the crime stats specific to women ? Women are significantly more likely to survive an attacker with little or no injury when they are armed as opposed to unarmed. The exact numbers escape me at the moment but they are out there.
If you have kids , maybe appeal to their instinct to be a "mother lion " when it comes to her kids, Asking her exactly what she could do to help stop a criminal attack when the kids are with her? Generally speaking,criminal attackers are male and their targets are female. In almost all cases the male will significantly outweigh the female victim, as well as be much stronger physically. Maybe point out that the average response time to a 911 call is 4 minutes , while the average interaction time between a criminal and their choosen victim is 90 seconds ? You guys know your women much better then I or anyone else does , so you know much better which " button " to push to trigger the desired response.
Lastly , if their at least willing to listen/learn with an open mind. Try picking up a couple of the books written by Paxton Quigley about being armed and female. Paxton used to be a dyed in the wool , raging anti gun liberal right up till the time a friend of hers was brutally attacked and raped. Paxton is now one of the most vocal persona's for a womens right to self defense with a gun. You can find her books on Amazon. There's also a website geared specifically to women called Cornered Cat. But all this is moot if they've just closed their minds off and prefer to live as an Ostrich ( no offense )
