I know next to nothing about Ar's, so what suggestions do you have as far as manufacturer, options, dealers in the not to distant gallaxy, and in the mid price range. I don't want a cheapo, but I don't need it to be top of the line either. I would like good accuracy, and reliability to be the top priorities.Don't_Know

Any help is appreciated. Thanks.Smile
Do you want to buy a complete AR (pre-assembled), buy a complete lower/complete upper (minor assembly), or build one from scratch?
Good luck right now because stock is quite depleated at every dealer I use

I have built 2 PAFOA and 1 USMC Lowers from Anvil Arms.
1 DPMS Lower as an A2 National Match Rifle Configuration
I am in the process of building 2 more 5.56x45 and 1 .308 AR's
Here are some links of the suppliers I use

Even though I am very mechanically inclined, I want a complete, ready to shoot, AR. Pennsy built one from a lower/upper, and saved about $200.00, he said, but I just want a complete weapon, and I can always customize it later, if I can still get parts, after the election.Don't_Know

edstephan, thanks for the links, I will check them out.
Yesterday at Shyda's Gun Shop the prices have gone up about 20% from last weekend...
Mikey, you can always go over to Topton. Randy has a few left, and I am sure they are good ones. And if you want to build one, it takes about an hour to put together a lower. And that is if you are talking with someone else instead of concentrating on the job at hand.

That wouldn't happen with you 2...........
I'm thinking of going on tuesday (VETERANS DAY), since I have off from work. It will be a nice present to myself, for being a veteran. How fitting is that??!! If Bill plays his cards right, I may let him ride along. TongueBig_Grin_2

checking smiley tags due to some recent changes ~gnbrotz
been wanting one myself, badly was looking at RRA's website ... http://www.rockriverarms.com/

prices arent bad that i can tell..

i will be waiting though, i think i might get me a M&P .45 soon though
I built my first AR with parts ordered from Model 1 sales, as well as G.I. parts I picked up over the years. When ordered from Model 1 in Aug.08 everything arrived in about a week. Ordered complete kit for 2nd AR on 29 Dec. 08 (AFTER ELECTION), still have not received it. It took about 3 months to get lower receiver from local gunshop. Prices for Model1 are reasonable, I think.
