OC by 17 year old?
Please, read this carefully before you answer. I don't really want to plow through a lot of stuff that is unrelated because it does not bear on what I am asking.
My 17 year old daughter asked me today if she could legally carry openly on our property. I did not have an answer for her. She handles my handguns on a regular basis at the range, and here in the house, but what about walking around on the property? I can't see why not, but I do not need to find out it is illegal after the fact. Again, if you are going to answer, please answer the question I asked. Thanks.

RE: OC by 17 year old?
Quote:18 Pa.C.S. § 6110.1. Possession of firearm by minor. I read this to say that unless she is under your direct supervision AND she is engaged in a specific activity involving the firearm, she cannot poses it. I'm sure one of the other Legal Eagles can expand on my interpretation though... |

RE: OC by 17 year old?
Thanks Andrew. She will be shooting, and there will be safety instruction, but it is all going to be wrapped up in another event.
That might be pushing the envelope just a little further than I want to right now.

RE: OC by 17 year old?
If she is able to shoot on your property then I wouldnt worry about it. Of course IANAL but if your property is rural enough to allow shooting, then chances are nobody will even notice. Better to be safe is suspose.
